Blake Belladonna - RWBY
Worn:
Spring Cosplay Day 2014 (Belleville, ON)
Status: Retired
Why Blake?
She is a total badass and I loved her character design. She's a cool character, smart, and her weapon is by far my favourite in RWBY.
Blake's a mix of easy and difficult. Difficult by way of the corset. Which is not my cup of tea/norm to make.
The top and shorts are made of the same white stretch-knit and made the patterns for both. They were both taken in to fit.
The corset is made out of a heavy broadcloth that I bought back in 2011. I bought 20 meters at the time, and this took up what was left. I custom made the pattern based off of the official art & screenshots. I sadly don't have it 100% accurate, but when I can I will remake it.
The leggings are ones I had at home and just painted the gradient on by hand and hand painted her symbol.
The arm pieces are spandex from Condesce. And the silver piece on the left arm is made of satin with an elastic and the satin's leftover from Kuja.
Wig was ordered off of ebay for $12.
Bow is made of the fabric from my Neo-Org Roxas coat (but used wrong-side out). Same for the neck piece. Neck piece does up in back with velcro, and the bow attached into the wig with a bobby pin.
Shoes were bought at the thrift store and painted. Buttons made of sculpey and hot glued on.
