Bomb Cocktail Dress - Final Fantasy
Worn:
KupoCon Pom Saucer (Toronto, ON)
Status: Active
Why a Bomb?
I never initially planned to do any of the enemies from Final Fantasy, but planning to do a Bomb inspired cocktail dress sparked the love for doing them. This was done for the Gold Saucer Gala at Pom Saucer in Toronto 2018 to match with KassyPlay as an Ice Bomb.
I'd never made a cocktail dress before making the ones for KassyPlay and myself, this one was for me.
I made the dress primarily out of left over red satins, but all of the organza I had to go out and buy (I had lots of blue, but no red).
The bodice pattern was a slightly modified McCalls 2470, and made it out of some of the leftover brocade from making Terra from FFVI that I used for Terra for FataliTea. The dress is lined. The skirt is made out of the satin skirt that used to be on my old nightie for Grell Sutcliff. The flames are made up using tulle and organza. The organza is all hemmed neatly, while I left the tulle unhemmed.
I used wide red ribbon for the straps of the dress.
