Nougami Neuro - Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Worn to:
Anime North 2010 (Toronto, ON)
Otakuthon 2010 (Montreal, QC)
Status: Retired - remake pending
Why Nougami Neuro?
Believe it or not, but Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro is actually my top favourite anime. Neuro is an awesome character, even if he is an asshole to poor Yako and Godai - but Akane-chan gets a lot of respect from him. His design is fun yet simple and it was too tempting to cosplay him.
The material for the suit is broadcloth, as my mother and I couldn't find any bright blue suiting. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think there's such a thing. But that's mostly due to the fact that people don't normally need to make a blue suit, least not non-cosplayers. The undershirt is made from nothing but white bridal lining that I bought back in 2007, and was going to use for a ghost costume. The caravat is made from cotton that I simply folded over to make puffy.
The buttons my mom had had for about 20 years, and I now have them on my suit jacket for this cosplay. I painted them bright yellow, from their original pale yellow. Gloves I bought at Wal-Mart, and the shoes I'd had since the ninth grade (keep in mind, I graduated from high school in 2007). Wig was bought in 2008, and I dyed the bangs using Loreal Paris Féria hair dye in Midnight Ruby. Triangles on the wig are made using craft foam. I have a general idea of how to do the makeup.
