Why Remake Organization Roxas?
This was a plan for a few years, to remake my entire Organization XIII Roxas cosplay out of a better more accurate material, better fit, and with pockets! I really wanted to breathe new life into a costume that I'd held so dear, so a remake was in order for a while. I'm glad I did.
Construction:
Coat: I used Buttersoft Leatherette that I got at Fabricland for the entire coat. I drafted my own pattern to match the seam lines from Kingdom Hearts II & Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but the leatherette matches the texture and sheen from the new Kingdom Hearts III. I sewed the front pieces together first, and then back, adding the sleeves after. The pockets are big enough to fit an entire Nintendo Switch with controllers attached. The leatherette on the front side panel determined the size of the pockets, and the finishing material inside the pockets are cotton. The edges on the top of the pocket are finished with scraps of the leatherette to create the nice finished look. I used the same type of zipper as I did from the first coat. The beads on my coat were modeled and 3D printed by my friend Miss Messy Mia, who also made them for Axel/Lea and I just had to paint them. My sister helped me connect them with wire and chains as she's better with jewelry tools than I am!
Bought pieces are the pants and gloves. There was no sense in making pants or gloves when I already owned lots of black pants, and I hate making gloves.
Wig: I used a Jareth in Pale Blonde from Arda Wigs Canada and styled it loosely following my friend Faxen Cosplay's tutorial for doing a wig like Roxas'. I enjoyed making this and plan to fix it up a touch.
